Can't make sense of this game.

Just started playing. Ok I have collected a bunch of parts, bunch of "FUN", a bunch of notes, and kicked a bunch of buddies. As far as I can tell I am out of things to do. I hit enter to play notes, but all the buddies have exploded. What am I supposed to be doing now?

Its wierd and fun and worth picking up when its on sale. Its not fantastic... but its worth the sale price. You can get some enjoyment out of building the different kinds of vehicles and its worth the buy just to see how whack the 'buddies' are.

Keep trying, you will figure it out, I don't want to give you any spoilers.

Well, it tells you what to do, which is collect a 3k (AFAICR) of FUN, if you are still on Autumn I presume. To get more buddies take the different scrap lying around and toss into the sink, it's a vortex in the water, you can see it from the altar-like structure. You will then probably get the hang of the game.

Also if you press T you can go to the stratosphere and buy things to drop with fun

Look at the very bottom of the screen. There should be a line of text which tells you the current goal you are supposed to be working towards. Sometimes the text isn't super helpful. If you want help with "what do I do next?", include what that sentence says.

Still trying to figure out the game, unfortunately it's so repetitive and boring now, I'm still in Autumn and I've thrown in a lot of junk into the vortex to rekick and dance with buddies, but that's all that I can do. There is no text at the bottom of the screen either. :-/

Yeah well, there's no clue what to do. I got to "tinker" with the sailboat and got to the stage where it told me to disassemble it make a motor boat, which I now have. Apparently I have to save buddies from being mincemeated, but I have no clue where or how...

So it doesn't really matter where you're stuck -- you'll be stuck again a few minutes later.

The cut scene actually shows though where you need to go with the motor boat so that shouldn't keep you too stuck :) they are jumping through a turbine on the island just opposite of the main island. If you walk on the big bridge where you started out you will see it.

A lot of the fun in this game is why games like Habitat and Kerbal can shine. When you start buying parts, you can make vehicles for land, sea, sky or a combination there of. There are actually phyics in play, so sometimes you need parts to balance out a design etc. It isn't as fast or as explodey as KSP but it does have that LEGO + physics feel many of us grew up loving.
