Jobs
All of my job adverts are always 2-star. I saw a single VIP one once but that's it. I have a mix of 2, 3 star and VIP in my village. Are better jobs just really rare or is this a balancing issue?

I'm pretty sure that jobs better than 2-star are much more rare and also every job seems to have a location associated with it, so I'm guessing more expensive locations offer more high-star jobs.

But even if you have a lot of expensive locations it's still going to be hard to get a better job generated, since there're just a lot more 2-star and 1-star jobs than 3- and VIP-star ones.

I'm guessing it's related to your reputation, just like in Matchmaker; so if your reputation is on pink (and you're at least in level 11), you can get VIP opportunities in your feed.

There are a lot more 2 and 3 star jobs than VIP ones. This makes higher rated job ads more rare. We will take a look at the algorithm and see if we can improve the odds a bit in the next update or so. You can choose to downgrade a character's affluence too. It may seem counterintuitive but will make that customer easier to please.

Is there a way to get some kind of hint as to what is needed to get a certain job? Like I see jobs pop up all the time but I can't tell if my character will like it or what is even needed for the job. Feels like it's just too much guessing with no context hint. Like I'll see a job for a lollipop tester but I have no idea who would even like that or what skills might be needed.

Is there a way to get some hint about who it's aimed for? Like having the schedule interview icon be what type the job is aimed for instead of just the chic icon. Or instead of the guy always saying,"this job may seem glamorous..." to what it is ,"this job is very practical..."

I guess the location of the job gives a hint to what type of person would work there (for example, edgy types would work at the pub), and the job itself (chic types would work as politicians). The job you choose also offers hints to the personality traits that are compatible (a thespian would have to be an extrovert; a politician would have to be methodical).

When I see a job pop up I just look at the location and see which of the types is the biggest fan of that location. So if I see a job as at the library, I click the library and see that Geeks love the place so it's likely a Geeky job.

I think this would give a hint, but I honestly think that jobs are working like interests did in Matchmaker. So every job has a value for each type of person, from +2 to -2, meaning how much this type likes/fits the job proposition, +2 being "likes a lot" and -2 being "dislikes a lot".

I think this would be great, but I think it has to accomodate for multiple types per job. For example I know that fortune teller is good for Edgy type, but I think it would probably be good for Hippy (and maybe Arty?) types, so the icon has to somehow show all types that are good for the job.

There are three aspects to the job interview.
Firstly does the character look like a type that would be suitable for the job. I.e. and edgy looking person would suit a job that edgy types would like.
Secondly the characters mood will affect the reaction of the interviewer. If they are happier they will make a better impression.
Then of course the questions are based on which personality trait is most suited to that job. These are pretty much common sense.

I hope that helps!

Does the person's hair style/clothes/makeup or facial hair also affect the job interview?

Yes because that's what decides if you look edgy/geeky or whatever.

I think personality traits might play a role too because I made a geeky person (who spent half his free time in the cinema) into a movie critic and he hated it after a while.
