Fun game! Any must try builds?
Whats up people,

Played a bunch of the 4 player co-op with friends over the weekend and it was great.

I understand the game is a brawler and I can only hope that with coordination and good principles any and every build is fairly balanced, however I'm wondering if anyone has felt OP with a particular build or combo of characters.

From first hand experience topping damage each round as engineer:

Mid 30s in levels:
Drop cool down potion on death 1/1
Health 5/14
Tec 10/14
Increase clip size 3/3
Duration of drone 3/3
radius of drone 2/3
Flame shot added to Y 1/1

I use the starter pistol, roll that grants haste and increased damage, plasma shot, basic drone.

I feel this build does my job as DPS really well, while also adding some control because the Y shot that I am spamming has good stun. The drone absolutely melts any given target as well.

Any great builds for the other classes? Am i missing out on something with the engineer?

I really enjoy playing as the fighter- Having hit my 30's yet, but She's got some decent mobility between the super high jump, and it can stun/knock up heaps of stuff given it's massive AOE, and her being able to boost it further. I -was- using the super fast spin until recently as an escape intro, and the duzzy parry- because it demolishes everything except titans- and you can just completely annihilate enemies when it's 1 on 1 or 2 on 1 (it gets harder to time parries past that).

;p I'll tinker with other weapons once I actually max her initial one- but I'm sincerely tempted to rock the life reach one. Whilst burn is an interesting status afflict, and she can inflict it with her combo, it can't kill, and it's damage is still fairly minimal- so investing in just sustain seems wiser, especially with something like a philosophers core that let's you spin around someone all day until they die.

I couldn't say the exact build to you, but Alex with starter hammer, the stomp that draws in enemies, dizzying counter and philosopher's core can be pretty OP if given the right buffs.

With the perk that inflicts weakness on enemies with stomp, extended stomp range, haste when countering and reduced damage for spinning she becomes a pretty terrifying DPS machine in my experience.

If you manage to suck in a few enemies and then spin2win indefinitely with philosopher's core you'll be dishing out lots of damage pretty quickly, counter if needed and continue applying tremendous offensive pressure by dizzying the enemy and wailing on them again with some basic combos. If you get hit in the process you get some cooldown reduction if you have the skill, which helps you to come back into the carnage.

I really like Engineer Weapon 2 "Desert Beagle" plus Secondary 4 (I call it the "Duel Decider") that completely refills your ammo if it kills an enemy, at the cost of costing 100% of ammo per shot.

The Desert Beagle loads quite slowly, but deals a lot of damage along with having great range. Though Erin will obviously not become a complete replacement for Meg, it DOES turn her into a highly mobile single-target damage character.

Combine with Evasion 1 "Vanilla Rollnilla" plus the Damage Boost after roll talent, and you have someone that can EASILY and quickly wear down any single opponent with just a few shots, pop the killing blow, and get a full clip to do it all over again.

Your choice with the Special Ability, I think all the turrets except for 4 (airborne only) each have their special uses.

The boots the Fighter has that make her do a really high leap and do a massive AoE hit knocks enemies towards her impact point. Throw the Anti Air turret under her impact point and watch enemies die horribly. Can do this solo if you like. The AA turret juggles them without knocking them around much so the Sniper and Engineer can get air crits pretty easily as well.

@ruff1298 the AA turret is also a hard counter to werewolves. They leap into its area and it immediately swats them down.

Another fun combo is the Blunderbus and Vodka rounds. 3 quick shots then damage boosted Vodka shot hits everything in a nice area with a good spike. Happens fast so you don't fall into the trap of over indulging in attacking and get hit by something else. If you can have a Sniper/Fighter use their gather mine/boots to make this extra effective. Another solo possible combo.

The tank builds i like to do
Personal Favorite:
Riot
Dragon stone
Strength
Turtle

Zoom zoom:
Wind shield
Dexterity

The Engineer builds i like to do
Personal Favorite:
Beagle
Hot
Zone

Air crit with yourself:
Banana roller
Antiair
Oh, also, The Fighter once she's higher level (and has a certain item that let's you boost skills and masteries), can rock something like 30% increased spin time, and have 90% damage resistance while spinning. Which translates into complete flipping murder if you use the Tide core- since it has unstoppable, meaning she can't be knocked out of the spin, and it draws enemies it hits towards her, So she can combo them all day. It's a bit slower- but it's -definitely- effective as a Tanky DPS maneuver. She gets -staggeringly- Surviveable, especially if you master her counters. My favourite is the Dizzy counter.
