Other Vertical SHMUPs on Steam?
Anyone know of any other vertical SHMUPs on steam? Specifically vertical. I was surprised to find that there are no tags making the distinction. I've always preferred vertical shmups to horizontal ones, even on console/pc where the screen is smaller (than a vertical scrolling arcade screen).

Oh man, thank you guys for the responses and suggestions!! Lots of really good looking games here.

Didn't even think to look for a raiden game here! I have raiden trad on the sega genesis and it's the tits. Probably one of the best genesis shmups. So I'll def have to check that out.

If anyone knows of any more or has any more suggestions, keep em coming.
@fluid druid @fireballcarwar, you guys are rockstars, thanks

Eschatos is brilliant and a great way of getting back into shmups properly if you're rusty, it has a very forgiving shield mechanic.

I second mushihimesama and crimzon clover

Bullet heaven 2 is really good fun as well.

(While the first two in Gundemonium Collection are horizontal scrolling, Hitogata Happa is the only installment in the series being an vertical scrolling shmup. There is a bundle package which I recommend you to buy if you're interest in looking forward to it. The reason why buying bundle is better, because you get three games in one package with some money saved. Just saying.)

There's more to find, but I list these titles the ones I found and bought (or know of). I also find several notable freeware vertical scrolling shmups (non-Steam games) such as ChoRenSha 68k, Blue Wish Resurrection (count Plus as update-for-sequel, too), Eden's Edge, Eden's Aegis, and Rapid-Fire Striker.

Omg, thanks guys, did not expect to get such large amounts of win when i originally posted. This is great.

@fireballcarwar, Those Altynex games really remind me of the 32 bit/saturn era shmups!

@clippa, thanks dude! I know this'll kill my street cred here lol, but I'm pretty suck at this "bullet hell" sub genre (they're still fun tho) so maybe that'll be good for me to check out

@rotting^2zombies, thanks, really surprised someone hadn't mentioned jamestown already. I already have it, but it's awesome. Love the graphics too.

@calamity-sama, really diggin those Triangle Service games! They got that 16/32 bit look and the graphics really remind me of the aero fighters and strikers 1945 games. Also, non-steam freeware is totally welcome too. I'll have to look all those up! :) thanks!
Wait till Touhou arrives to Steam lol.

I wish the whole Castle Shikigami Series was ported over here too.

Phoenix Force is different in that stages consist of only a boss, and theres no real mechanics to the game besides dodging more and more complex attacks.
I have a soft spot for Edelweiss games:

Though these games are only sometimes vertical shmups, the perspective will change within stages, mostly between horizontal and vertical, but sometimes into the screen style and stuff.

I absolutely second peoples mentions of Mushihimesama and Crimzon Clover, as those are probably THE best shmups on steam.

This is pretty fun

You can also find the Raiden Legacy collection on steam, though opinion on it is pretty mixed to unfavourable due to the emulated nature of it.

Yeah, it came up on the front of steam for me today when I logged in as a "recommended game". Looked at it and then decided to add it to my wishlist.
