Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero ( windows Steam) + XXMI / 3DMigoto Mods — Working Method (for me)
After testing several ways to use XXMI/ZZMI with the Steam version of Zenless Zone Zero, I found a method that works stably, even with Steam’s verification system.

Problem

In the Steam version of the game:

XXMI cannot directly launch the game without triggering an in-game error saying “please start the game via Steam”
Steam requires the game to be launched through its client

Working method (current workaround)

This is the workflow that worked for me using XXMI 1.4 + the Steam version:

XXMI configuration

Launch Method: Manual

How to play

Start XXMI
Launch the game via XXMI
Start Zenless Zone Zero via Steam normally
XXMI detects the game process automatically
Mods are injected after the game starts

Result

The game is still launched correctly through Steam
XXMI / 3DMigoto mods work normally after injection
I have not found a way to fully automate everything into a single launch without conflicting with Steam verification

If someone knows a cleaner method (true 1-click setup or direct Steam integration without validation errors), please share it in the discussion.

first result i found after a google search made it easy for me. first you gotta do your launcher setup, load that up and change settings to point to the exe in steamlibrary

after that, right click on ZZZ within steam and open properties, on launch options, paste this

"C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Roaming\XXMI Launcher\Resources\Bin\XXMI Launcher.exe" --nogui --xxmi ZZMI %COMMAND%

be sure to change the YOUR_NAME section to match what your account name is. it'll skip the Hoyo launcher app and go straight into the game

this worked for me! was worried I'd have to uninstall the steam version and go back to the OG way

It did work for me, i'm afraid if the next updates will kill this method, but it works for now
Is there a way for this to work on Steam OS?
Windows commands don't tend to work on it.

I think this might break after a future update, especially when the game itself updates. Zenless usually requires HoYoPlay to open after major updates so it can patch the game properly.

That said, you can probably just disable this launch option before updating, let HoYoPlay update the game, and then enable it again afterward.
