More directions, i r confused.
I see that you've said elsewhere that a map would defeat the purpose and tone of the game, but perhaps as an unlockable? Or toggled on/off in the options menu? Or able to be gradually uncovered as the player explores the Ministries?
You bring up some pretty interesting ideas here.
It was important for me to gauge the correct density of "Navigation Tips" to the player. That sort of thing could either be healthy or unhealthy in terms of doing it too much. But I can see now that more may be helpful in denser dialogue areas.
Charizmo was built to lessen the need of a map and support the idea of making the player investigate their environment with the aid of this character. If a map were to be made, it'd likely be integrated as a "You Are Here" as an in-game poster or sign. I haven't completely ruled any map ideas out yet.
Subtitles are of course VERY important. But I say that with a grain of salt because they won't be supported until the major gameplay blocks are set into place. Major "Technical" updates are planned to follow the major "Content" updates. I realize this may not sound sufficient, but that way I can tackle those things more effectively when it comes to deadlines.
Thanks!
In case it can help
