Game Not Saving

Last year I had played this game and enjoyed it. Sadly, I never actually beat this game, so I wanted to give this another shot. I breezed through World 1 and then quit the game through the menu. When I restarted the game last night, my progress was not saved.

When I was playing this last year, all of my progress was saved and there were not any issues. Has anyone else had any issues having their progress not save in the game? I searched around and could not find any remedies on the web or forums here. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
