I don't like this and I don't wat to huff in copium. I can't refund at this point. I guess it's best to cut your losses and play any other farming sim.

Just to clarify, Hudell made the decision to not be part of the dev team anymore but the rest of the team is still the same, just minus Hudell now.
Hudell clearly did a good to leave, it's not like either the devs, publisher or Hudell himself are gonna reveal why he left. But we can make speculation from SOEDESCO's track record and the current decision to go to 0.11.1 to 1.0 with no patch notes, when literally every other patch has patch notes.

When the bad out weighs the good, you know there's something bad going on, someome making bad decisions.
Anyway, this not the right place for this kind of discussions so we’d really appreciate if you could keep your posts focused on the game. Thanks for understanding!

I don't remember how much I spent on this game, being as I bought it well before COVID, but I'm just going to chalk it up as a loss. Goodluck to the developers.
There's also this review which I really liked.

I know when I got this game in 2019 I could actually play it and I played it for 9 hours straight, but I decided to stop playing it and give it awhile for more updates. When I came back after 4 years it was much worse, and I couldn't even play an hour.
This game was supposed to include marriage and children and now marriage might be a feature?
When it was originally planned to be added in in the 0.5.0 update back in August 2018 and then children planned for the 0.6.0 update October 2018- But I think this was said/planned when the game was still with Hudell/Tropical Puppy.

And here's the one from October (last month)-

The whole marriage thing obviously isn't the only downfall, there's plenty of issues here. And seeing how bad the whole quest line is practically useless.
It sucks to see the nose dive this game took after Hudell left. At least I paid so little and can just cut my loss and move on to better games.
From what I read- this is the top comment on the video I linked--
It was a passionate project that was supposed to be a fantasy farm game with different races, combat, magic, and a vast world similar to Sunhaven, all developed by a single dev. Initially, it received regular updates, but the updates slowed to just one or two per year as time passed. Eventually, the developer sold it to a publisher, who removed many elements, including the fantasy aspects, and changed the map to a nonsensical circular layout. There were no updates for years, but suddenly, it was released on all platforms.
They completely remade/redid the game, removed a lot of stuff from it.
It was better with the single dev in 2019, and with a bigger (?) team it sucks now.
I saw on one of the patch notes a few years ago, it said that they built the game from the ground up in Unity, because the current engine (at that time) was not for "their" vision for the game. Just giving the previous dev a big old middle finger, because clearly their "vision" is better as we're currently seeing.
I found the exact notes: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/416000/view/3121552948617618656?l=english
"Fantasy Farming: Orange Season was built on an engine that does not fit with our plans for the title. This is why we decided to start a porting process to the Unity engine. We expect this process to be done around May of 2022 and it'll come as a free update right here in Early Access on Steam."
Really tired of bigger companies getting these tiny run dev games and completely changing the vision.
It was much better with Hudell's vision, and was rated positively.
I had 2 games from this company on my wishlist and removed them.
My only regret was not playing the game more before all the changes.
