What do Chickens Eat?
Do they just feed on Bird Feed or can I also use Weeds or Wheat to feed them while they are outside.

Only bird feed in the current version. You can also leave them outside overnight, in which case they don't need to eat (just make sure they don't stay outside on rainy days)

yea umm at the risk of sounding stupid, were the heck dose one get the bird feed from iv checked the store i bought the chicken from has well has the general store and didn't see any

It's in the same store where you got the chicken. Same NPC too.

I can feed my chicken weeds but not bird seed.

You have to put the bird feed in the feeding area inside the chicken coop. Anything you give directly to them works as a treat, but is not enough to feed them for the day.

ok, but what about in winter? i have some adults and one chick, and they´re outside everyday ( it´s winter btw) and they lay eggs, but can my chick grow like that?

Chicks need to stay inside the coop with feed in order to grow into a chicken.
