Works fine but
Yeah I'm sure no one will prolly read this since no one cares about this game and this board is dead but I was wondering why there's no music or even sound in some parts of this game. Other than that it runs pretty fast and I'm impressed with how it controls and looks.

It's probably a CD issue. This applies to many older games on Steam, such as the Quake series and even the original Half-Life partially. The best way to fix this is to write the game's soundtrack to a disc and mount the disc while you're playing, so the soundtrack plays. A more optimal but longer approach is to modify the game so that it looks for a directory for the music, but I have no coding knowledge to do this.

As for this port, I'm surprised it's fine with widescreen options. I wish the animations would interpolate, because they look as if they were designed for a 30Hz monitor. Still, the game is fluent, and, besides for the obvious camera issues, this game is pretty good!

An unofficial patch to add music exists. However, linking to it is not to Steam's liking, so you'll have to google for it (not that hard, really).
If you go into the game's files, you'll notice that the Music files aren't anywhere to be seen. This is because -- for some reason -- the Music isn't included in the Steam version at all. This problem is exclusive to the Steam version, and I've tried to open a Ticket about this with Customer Support, but they were entirely useless, and silently closed the Ticket shortly after saying that it's taking longer than they expected to solve it(This was in the middle of last year, by the way, so I've given up on that).

Why on earth would steam remove something that could fix a game, do they not want to make money? If it's a problem for alot of people then steam is making it worse by removing links.

The reason for this is because of the way the music worked in retail. Like the first two Earthworm Jim games for the PC, 3D came on a Data/Audio CD with the game files on track 1 and the music burned as the remaining tracks of the CD meaning the music files weren't included in the data side (the music was burned to it like a normal audio CD).

Curiously, the Steam versions of EWJ1 & 2 actually contain the full ISOs of the games (which is why they're 700+ MB), which includes both the data files and the CDA music files necessary for the music to play. However, it looks like they got a little sloppy and didn't include the EWJ3D CD in the Steam version, which is why there's no music. They didn't take any files out, since the music was burned to the CD as an audio CD. Instead, they were just lazy and forgot to include the CD. Still hope that they fix this in the future as the EWJ3D music was great.
