Anyone tried this on Deck?

It launches and seems to run really smoothly once in-game, but there's some things very wrong; no text rendering, some audio doesn't play, etc. Might need tweaking!

Thanks for the feedback.
I heard there is an easy way to add the audio back in the game.
Its an issue with the PC port as a whole.

It's not an issue with the port.
It's just that the Steam version is incomplete.
GOG version is complete and that is what the music patch is made from.

Unless you want to dive into the Steamdeck OS to add the music, i wouldn't recommend on deck.

I was wondering how this ran on steamdeck. EWJ 3D was the only one I didn't get to play back in the day. They need to clean up and re-release this trilogy for like $20. I'd get it.

It will take some time and hope you know how to use your deck as a mouse input.
Left trigger is right mouse button, like shows menu and such, and right trigger is left click, like selecting and dragging stuff.

1. Press the steam button.
   
2. Go to "Power" and switch to desktop.
   
3. Open Steam.
   
4. Left trigger on EWJ3D and right trigger on "Browse local files" under manage.
   
5. Browse back from the EWJ3D page to the discussions and download my Music fix.
   
6. Click on the link. You might be asked to install FireFox, so do that if asked. It will show an install button.
   
7. Continue to to site and download the zip. Top right. Download anyway.
   
8. Wait for the download and click on the folder next to it.
   
9. Close everything you don't need so you have the EWJ folder and downloads. Move them about by pressing the right trigger on top of the windows so they are about next to each other.
   
10. Open the EWJ3D folder in the EWJ folder.
    
11. Open the Zip file.
    
12. From the zip file press and hold the right trigger underneath the files and then drag it upwards to to select all the files. Then release.
    
13. Click on them a second time and drag them into the EWJ3D folder. Make sure you don't drag them inside a different folder.
    
14. When prompted to overwrite the EXE, do so.
    
15. The zip is now no longer needed so can be deleted.
    
16. Left trigger on the zip and send it to trash.
    
17. Left trigger on the trash and empty trash to delete the now unneeded zip.
    
18. Then double right trigger "return to Gaming mode" from the desktop.
    
19. Launch EWJ3D from the gaming mode.

Hope this helps. Music works but you'll still have trouble as the text still doesn't show.

A little extra info. Change the controller settings.
Go to the Community layouts for the controller.
Press X to show all Layouts and use the Enosis layout.
Press A to use it then X to apply.
Restart EWJ3D after the change.
Thank me for that later.

Then Maybe change the Right stick click to W for first person mode.

I've managed to get it working fine.

1. Use files from https://steamcommunity.com/app/41600/discussions/0/357286663687274512/
2. Open a binary editor (if you do this on Steam Deck, you can install Okteta)
3. Open EarthwormJim3D.exe with it
4. Click Edit → Go to Offset…
5. Type 82e88 and click Go
6. You'll see this sequence: E8 B3 0F 01 00 8B F4 6A FF
7. Replace it with 66 90 89 E6 68 FF FF FF 00
9. Save

For better experience, set screen resolution to 1024×768 (in the game) and change controls (in Steam controller cofiguration).

i beat the game, i noticed a bug in while playing on steam deck. Earth Worm Kims face does not appear when you talk to npcs or collect atomic health. Any fix for this?
