Savegame Editor
Hi, I'm looking for a savegame editor. With which I can change my character, e.g. reset points, change pet name, etc.

You're telling me this game offers no stat/skill resets? Wow that's hardcore!

i wrote savegame editor for TL2 as alternative Rapid Respec but didn't finished TL1 variant yet :( it ok to look maybe but not for edit yet :( not all things realized and tested. But as i remember, i saw some very old editing command line tools in internet
There are reset potions in the game. If I remember correctly the potions are in the base game, and there are mods to lower the prices on them/make them more available or something.

There is also a Torchlight Editor tool available to anyone in Steam. I haven't messed with it myself, so I don't know if it allows for editing save games or not.

???? I don't recall ever seeing any reset potions in this game. You can buy a fish to change your pet to a cat or dog, but I don't think there are any reset potions. There aren't any in Torchlight 2, either, although there is an NPC that will let you reset 3 skill points.

Are you thinking of Torchlight 2's GUTS game editor? I don't know of one for Torchlight 1 on Steam.

It's been a minute since I set up my mods on Torchlight 1, but a quick search gave me this answer from Gamefaqs 15 years ago - "There's a respec potion in the game files, but you can't access it normally. You can either spawn it with the console (not recommended), or get a mod that adds it."

There is a Torchlight Editor (provided for the modding community), but again I don't know if it lets you edit save files. See here: https://torchlight.fandom.com/wiki/TorchEd

this is MOD editor, NOT savegame files

It can effectively be used to do both though.

I can be a blind but didn't see savegame editor functions there

I suppose I could see having that issue if you're overly literal, lack creativity, and only know how to approach a problem from one direction.
