Can we control which side switch hitters bat from?

Why would you want to switch sides anyways? It's to the batter's advantage when done this way.

I know left handed pitchers over all have an advantage because of their rarity against hitters of either hand. But they also have an advantage over left handed batters when they throw a breaking ball for example because it curves away from the batter. If it is a right handed batter it curves towards the batter.

So if I have a switch hitter, I think it makes more sense to bat from the right against a left handed pitcher. I was just wondering if this is something I need to be mindful of or if the game automatically sends the batter to the side of the plate that gives him the advantage.

The default sends the switch hitter to the right box for a right handed pitcher and the left box when facing a left handed pitcher.
