Starpoints

In the original game we had staffs to improve our teams. As our team would win games we'd earn starpoints which would increase our level. The higher the level the better the staff you could hire.

Now with no staffs in the game what are starpoints earned from winning games for or do?

The Starpoints are a really good reflection of how well you're doing in the game overall, and they take your Ego into account. They also feed the leaderboards :-)

Just want to preface this with... I LOVE this game, and the small company that made it, and can't say enough good things about this great game. /fanboy fist pump

THAT being said... another point of view is...

Starpoints mean *absolutely* nothing to me, and, frankly, I wish I could turn them off, just to take a little arcadey/Las Vegas slot machine away from the interface. I'm not even sure what all the beeps and bops are that are happening durning a play... giving me x 'star points' for this or that... they come and go so quickly I can't really even look at them while I'm trying to field the ball.

And on the leaderboards... I'm a casual, at best. The guy(s) at the top of the leaderboards have like 100x the star points I have or will ever have... I guess that means I'm supposed to feel bad about myself? ;)

I mean no offense... I love almost everything else about this game, but "Starpoints" are completely, absolutely, 100% pointless. (again, just to me! Absolutely no problem with their existance for other people to compete with and enjoy, if there are such creatures.)

I agree. I say bring back the Starpoints/XP/Staff combo. I loved that from the first game! It gives your players a chance to improve throughout the season in a RPG style.

Yep, from an SP stand point they removed about 1/3 of the game from the last one.

you should let use spend star points on different colored bats and shoes maybe. like cosmetic stuff that can be spent in game on things that have NO impact on gameplay. I'm getting real tired of seeing my big macho man 3rd baesmen wave around his purple bat. It should be pink instead!
