Are the AI bots as good as Payday 2?
Or are they worse?
I might pick this up for solo play.

I hear more complaints about the team ai in this game than about PAYDAY 2, but maybe that's because the bots are super OP in that game (even without the mod to make them even more powerful). It's lacking some of the nicer features like having them hold certain positions and carry bags, but I've been able to finish the highest difficulty with them in this game and most of the raids were fairly easy. I've mostly been playing it solo and I've enjoyed it for the most part. But I also enjoy the vanilla gameplay in PAYDAY: The Heist, so I may be an exception as apparently most people don't want to spend time learning how to play the maps.

The only raid that I really disliked when playing alone was the Gold Rush raid and that was for various reasons. One of which is that you have to carry 16 bags of gold over a relatively long distance and have to move through open areas with almost no break between the assaults. But that was on Very Hard, the difficulty below that is a lot easier already. For the record: the successful run on that raid took me two hours. But it's much better when you're with more than one player as long as the framerate doens't drop too hard.

How many content in the game?

For 5 bucks you'll certainly get your money's worth of content and most of the bugs aren't really game breaking. The number of weapons is obviously much more limited than PAYDAY 2, but I think there's something for everyone. The 14 maps (2 of which are special and you have to find intel for them, much like the train heist in PD2 used to be) are pretty unique, so you don't feel like you're doing the same thing on different maps, other than moving stuff on some of them.

One thing I disliked is that you're forced to go through all difficulties if you want to play on the higher ones, but for most people the normal difficulty is probably the one they should start with anyway and for that reason it's probably a good thing. I touched on more things in my review but I was actually limited on words there so it's quite the read.

I don't know any good videos for this game, but I have a playlist where I beat all of the raids on the very hard difficulty. Not the best videos to watch in this case (the somewhat defensive gameplay doesn't exist as much on the lower difficulties), but you'll get an idea of the content:

Are the objectives and guard placement random like in Payday 2?

Anyway, thanks for your answers.

Yes, they are. I think there's even more randomness than on most maps in PD2, though it may be comparable on the newer maps. I don't really like the stealth in this game though, but it's usable and it may be okay for some.

14 maps for 5$ is alright for me.
I just hope the devs decide to come back to it one day.

The devs (LGL) dont own RAID its the publishers Starbreeze who do and they make/made all the decisions regarding the game.

Sorta, Helper bots are morons and die quickly and the enemies are closer to release day payday 2 missing alot of the fixes that were added overtime

Maybe they changed the friendly AI in the most recent updates, but in my experience they're super tanky and don't die fast at all unless they're alone and completely exposed to the enemies. They can even perform a revive in the middle of a group of enemies.

Combine Payday 2's A.i and Left 4 dead 2's A.i and you get the stupidness of Raid's bots.

They like to stand in the middle of open fire and then get stuck in a spot and dont revive you.

Just played the train mission. They were competent enough to revive me each time i got downed.
they pretty much the old payday 2 AI before they got any update
