Outlast 2 Multiplayer

Howdy,

So for everyone wondering (including myself) Does Outlast 2 have multiplayer?

Well after downloading and playing the demo, I opened the BaseGame Config located here -

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Outlast 2 Demo\Engine\Config

I discovered the following lines -

MaxPlayers=16
GameDifficulty=+1.0
bChangeLevels=True
MaxSpectators=2
MaxIdleTime=+0.0

To me this looks very likely to be multiplayer settings.

Tell me what you's think of this, and if you have experience editing configs, please elaborate on this finding.

It's weird but I don't see how Outlast could have multiplayer

This is most probably because the game uses Unreal Engine 3 which comes with basic, preconfigured settings for multiplayer. This does not in any way suggest that Outlast 2 will have multiplayer.

Ahh perhaps your right, I guess this must be a default config for most Unreal based games.

It would be nice seeing multiplayer, maybe in the form of a hide-n-seek style game mode.

I guess we will have to find out :)

That means someone could create a Multiplayer Mod using the Outlast 2 files!
