Bug or Intentional? (Church Chase Scene)

I started to replay Outlast 2, and when I got to the scene where you're supposed to be chased out of the Church, I don't get any chase scene whatsoever. Is this intentional if you stay silent while hiding in the confession stand?

Well...considering I've only played through the game once and did NOT get chased out of the church, I'm thinking it must be intentional that if one remains silent whilst in the confessional they are not pursued? I had no idea it was even a possibility to get chased out of the church - or maybe my game was just broken and I failed to notice XD

I believe that chase was removed from the game due to player feedback, but it might (citation needed) be playable on higher difficulties.

- Global rebalancing of the game difficulty.

The chase was completely removed. Red Barrels removed some chase scenes to improve the pacing of the game.

The only way I know is to find another way to download the base version (using Steam console doesn't work, seems like they removed the older versions )

Unfortunately, yes :/
BUT, I think if you use the easiest difficulty (Story Mode) it will reactivate the chase scenes.

Yeah, it’s kinda a guess :/

Of course this chase was removed completely. As for the story mode - there are a lot less enemies and chasing than in other modes. Why this chase would be there? It's inconsistent.

You say it like it is a good thing. Outlast is nothing without chases, that's the whole point of the game. You are alone, helpless, can't defend yourself, you can only run and hide while being chased

You say it like it is a good thing. Outlast is nothing without chases, that's the whole point of the game. You are alone, helpless, can't defend yourself, you can only run and hide while being chased

but if there are too many chases it seems exhausting. Although I have never seen this chase. I heard about it.
