Help With The Mines

I know I ask a lot of questions lol but I generally am stuck on this. So I’m going to censor the spoilers here.

In chapter 5 you are in the mines and running from heretics. After dropping down and going past the shadow demon you come across a locked door and squeeze through a tight path and go down a narrow hall with dead bodies and you can record it. A heretic comes out and chases you preventing you from going forward. Here is where I am stuck. I am running from a heretic and ran into another so I hopped into a barrel and luckily neither noticed me. Please help me navigate because I don’t know where to go. I use my microphone to navigate them, but they scream all the time so I can never pinpoint their exact location. From the spot I am hiding in, I can see the one when it walks up to me. It stands there and never checks the spot I am in before going back and in a door or down the hall ahead. I’m not looking to avoid them just to get out and not get killed because they are really fast.

I’m on Story mode because I want a first easy playthrough and the system is my ps4, but I don’t think that makes a difference.

I managed to eventually get past them, but now I’m kinda stuck on Val chasing me.

After you are captured you have to run away from Val and the ceiling collapses forcing you to squeeze through a tight area. There is a body of water and to the right a room with a lockable door, a cabinet, and a bandage.

I tried guides, and they work okay, but I always end up lost.

its tough part.

first you need to pass one guy (he is goin to drop down if you go on this dark room with doors) and he's goin to "left door" (if you looking forward), just let him pass, he's goin close the door, dont run, just walk or he's gonna hear you, now you go to this area with dead bodies on walls, if you manage this out this guy hidding on wall (you can actually see him with your camera if you zoom in). As soon as you come close to this "skript event" where he's gonna "spot you", just turn around and walk BACKWARD, you'll hear the music when he's gonna spot you and you run then back till first door on LEFT. Get inside, but dont lock it up yet. if you are in room, go a little forward and turn right, there is some kinda "crack in a wall", go though and come to other side. If you getting out, you'll see this guy actually standing in front of this tunnel where you need to pass out. Because skipt says him he's need to stop there. You just run directly to him and go inside this room to the right (its this room where you came LEFT first time as he chased you). You get inside and this time you LOCK the door behind you. Now go through this crack in a wall again. Dont realy remember now, maybe he's gonna dissapear or wanna blast that door and getting in this room. And this time you sneak till this tunnel door, or run directly. In this area with dead boddies they stop chasing you.

apart from Val chase, you need to activate 2 switches, its this water area, walk slow there, if you see her just press DUCK button, you can see her light, let her pass and walk forward. If you manage to find those 2 switches and activate them, you need to pass to this little tunnel where all electrical wires were.

Yeah I managed to finally get past the loud mouthed heretics, what I did was go into the room on the right, keep the door open (found out the one stalking me loops in one large circle), wait until he goes by, then run when he is out of sights.


As for Val, I have yet to get past her.

listen. actually you dont need to aviod them totally. just remember the direction and when they are not chasing you. run like hell. and when you go back to the place where you should record, you can even record again. i think the setting here is they wont chase you like hell but you need to be brave and run.

for val, you just run to the opposite direction, until in the open air, she will get you. the setting here is she will try to kill you, but ahh, you will know.

Thanks for the help! I should have renamed the title as I have beaten the game, though it took courage lol
