What was restored from the AO build?
Aside from the part where Val rapes Blake getting extended/uncut does anyone know what else was restored?

Can confirm the child birth scene is now comparable to those videos I watched in sex ed class.

Curious why they are now able to add those back in and still keep the rating? ESRB getting soft? Not complaining since I am against censorship, but still odd especially since it is happening to the console versions as well

They probably found a loophole or something.

According to the IGN article about the patch, it will only be available on PC (at least with the cut content). That's how thye're getting around the ESRB. Steam doesn't require re-certification for this kind of content, but Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo do require re-cert for their consoles. So the restored content is PC only.

So this new version of the game restores all of the cut content? Or just certain things?

Not everything, for example something that wasn't patched was the Jessica and Father Loutermilch voice lines at the end of the game.

The game was never rated AO from ESRB these scenes were removed during development due to fear of censorship and they probably restored the ones that were in the final version of the game anyway and they only took off at the last moment just before presenting it to the ratings committees and secure the M rating. Now with this patch these scenes have been restored as an extra content and we can say that we have an exclusive extended version on PC. Unfortunately many other interesting contents such as the implicit rape scene presented by mistake to the OFLC and these voice lines could have been lost because abandoned to development points back compared to the rest of the game, for example the rape scene was from an alpha version of the game. Did anyone find anything else besides the birth and orgy scene?

Well Im in Australia and this goes against our rating board. I personally dont care for the changes but im pretty sure we received them here also as we use the American store.

Im a little confused on how they achieved this but if its legal sure they should add it all in.

Given that there are unused voice clips for Blake talking about Marta killing Val then it's kind of disappointing that it sounds like they didn't add in that scene. Also, why would anyone think to record a minecart?

It's always nice for free stuff to be patched in but two recordings and two already pretty uncomfortable scenes being made more uncomfortable is a bit rubbish. It's called Story Mode. In what sense is the story being enhanced by 'Your wife still gives birth at the end but this time we made it look a bit more gross.'?

Story mode is a difficulty setting that makes encounters a lot easier and adjusts certain sections to make them more fit for exploration. There is no exclusive content for story mode that isn't in the rest of the game.
I think it's the Heretics orgy scene. In the released game, it was completely blurred out to show Blake that his eyes was burnt, but now, it's less blurred.

Like I said, I don't think a game has to be certified (or in this case recertified) to be on Steam. The Steam page doesn't show the game's rating at all, which is different from how PSN and Xbox Live do it (you can see a game's rating on their store pages). Indie games go up all the time on Steam with no certification, because the rules are different on Steam than they are in brick and mortar shops, and on PSN and Xbox Live.

That's the only reason I think they're able to do this on Steam, and why the content isn't being released on PSN or Xbox Live.

Edited: In fact, I've just done some reading up and, yes, submitting a game to the ESRB is completely optional. Not submitting it will prevent it being sold through certain retailers -- brick and mortar stores, PSN, Xbox Live -- but Steam has no such rules. A game need not be submitted -- or in this case, resubmitted -- to the ESRB because Steam does not require it.

The PC release of Outlast 2 was never sold in a physical edition through retailers, so there's no mandate to re-submit for M certification due to this patch.

Are you sure the Val Blake part got extended? I saw a stream on YT of the new story mode and it cut to the flashblack at the same point.

Only the orgy scene is more explicit, there are more heretics who ♥♥♥♥ each other.
