Direct sequel?

Hey all, got this game on my wish list and have had for a long, long time ... I havent finished the base game of Outlast yet though, i also have the whistleblower DLC to start and finish.

Does anybody know if Outlast 2 is connected directly to Outlast 1 or the DLC? ... Story wise i mean?

No, Outlast 2 is a completely different story to Outlast. Although, they are connected.
Check out their comic which is supposed to tie the two together.

Like Prett said it's not a direct sequel you don't play in an assylum or mental hospital anymore it's an complete different setting but still Outlast 2 is a sequel to the first it just not a direct sequel. If you read the Murkoff accountant there's a bridge between the first and the second game recommand you should read it.

Seconded. Why would you be so reluctant to finish the main game yet want to buy the sequel so eagerly? That's kinda perplexing, really...

Part 4 recently came out it's gonna take time until part 5 comes out

First of all you dont ever need to play the first game for a sequel games are not made that way with maybe one or so exception here and there.

Then yes its a sequel but its standalone from the first game. They tie somewat into each other but not to much. Its a new story.
