[SPOILER] Val is Jessica theory
Did anyone think that Val might be Jessica, who had somehow survived being hanged? She does look physically similar to Jessica, like her's grown up version, and the game did hint to it, first of all Val does have some kind of affection for Blake, she licks his face and sits on top of him and say "we're going to have so much pleasure", and immediately after this we're brought back to school where Jessica is sitting on top of Blake in the same manner. Jessica had a lot of traumatic events on religious base in the past, that's why she ended up in the religious cult and played with her body by attempting some kind of gender swap.

And there's an irony that sweet little Jessica from Blake's childhood is hunting him in the mines as an ugly cold-blooded monster.

Yeah I kinda thought so too. I know the game hints at her hanging herself but in the end didn't she get attacked by the teacher? Unless it meant she hanged herself as a result of the attack

I believe she broke her neck on the stairs when running from the teacher. Then, the teacher made it look like she hung herself and Blake "helped" him cover it up.
Not 100% confirmed, but I'm pretty sure that's what happened. :)

The visual analogy of your theory even exists ingame. Remember the complete darkness, where you had to follow Jess' voice? At the end you saw her hanging and she came back to life and screamed at you . Also, I noticed that Val repeats some of the lines Father Loutermilch said, especially "Jessica, help me make this right.". Val repeats this line multiple times while she hunts you down and while you find Lynn down in the mines.

But then the question remains, how can somebody recover from a broken neck like that? Jessica must've been extremely lucky not being paralyzed after her fall.

There's also a theory that the events at Temple Gate didn't actually happen. That it's all in Blake's mind. Perhaps he was already being experimented on by Murkoff before he even "arrived" on the helicopter and it was all one giant hallucination.
Knoth could obviously represent the teacher, who abuses children etc.
Marta could perhaps be a representation of Lynn? In Marta's death animations, it shows her always attacking the crotch, and she doesn't seem to go after females in the game either. Perhaps, this is a messed up version of Lynn feeling jealous that Jessica had a crush on Blake?
And then obviously Val would represent Jessica etc. etc.
I'm not entirely sure I agree with this theory, as it has a load of holes in it, but I just thought I'd mention.

To be honest, I never actually thought of that but coming to think of it now, I think Jessica could be Val. I mean she kidnapped Jessica and took her to the mines, maybe it's some sort of payback on Lynn & Blake because she loved Blake but he didn't love her back, he loved Lynn form the start. Maybe we could see a story to this in the DLC, it's a possibility.

That is what I thought too.
