But there does seem to be a Murkoff connection.
it's confirmed that Murkoff is behind Temple Gate in the free comic
"The Murkoff Account"
I just finished Outlast 2. From the start, I was really expecting a lot of things that didn't turn out. I remember from near the end of the first Outlast that there are memos that talk about a new project location at the mountain involving women. Halfway through the game, I was predicting that the DLC campaign would be Lynn's series of events. But now I am certain that it would be something to do with a laboratory, more to the tune of the first OL (which is reminiscent of the golden Resident Evil days). Or rather I hope it turns out like that. OL2 was a solid game of course, but when I play a horror game, I want to see some shady secret laboratory at the end. It's always the fault of some suit wearing SOBs!!
As someone previously stated, there is alot in OL2 that insinuates Murkoff involvement. Most of it is found when you arrive at the lake. There's a memo on the left side of the lake that talks about experiments. There's another memo in a cave (in the direction that the villagers flee towards) which seems to preceed a lot of events where John is telling "Reverand" (instead of referring to as "Father Papa") that he was out hunting and found two towers covered in camoflague netting. The "HELP" message on the beach is directed directly at the ominous factory building, insinuating that this fishing village was probably the first to turn because of its proximity to this structure- and the victims probably thought the factory would help them. When you make the recording of the factory, Blake makes it obvious by commenting on how it still has power- yet it is never explored at all.
