Massive Plot Holes (SPOILERS)

So I just finished the game and... wtf? The game leaves a TON of stuff unresolved or flat-out unanswered.

1. What was the device that shot down Blake's helicopter, the thing that made the loud noise every so often?

2. How did Lynn become pregnant so quickly?

3. Why is Blake hallucinating about his elementary school days?

4. What, if any, is this game's connection to Outlast? No mention of Murkoff or Miles Upshur or anything.

5. Were the cultists and Sullivan Knoth Variants? What about the mutated sick people?

I remember mention of female staff members at Mount Massive hallucinating pregnancy and thought that might have something to do with it. But if Murkoff or one of their machines was involved, Outlast 2 certainly didn't say so.

Your right, it doesn't say so blatantly, but the devs said there is a connection and Murkoff will make an "appearance", so the best we can guess is that radio tower was them.

but yes, you pretty much have to 100% the game (and Outlast 1) and read every document to have a chance at understanding. Devs went too far with the obscurity IMO.

Yeah, that's... a bit too far. Nothing wrong with finding all the docs, but it's a bit of a stretch to assume that everyone'll remember Document 3 from the third floor bathroom.

In the above document you can see the scientist referencing a bet he had with “Jenny Roland”. He means Jennifer Roland, who is known from Outlast 1 to be Murkoff Corp’s Pathologist. This proves the connection to Murkoff and the MKULTRA mind control program.

That's why I had to look up that article to get more invested in the game, it didn't feel connected to me. I didn't think they were mentioned by name. I was hoping it was a twisted version of Father Martin and they worshipped the Walrider

if the Devs would have just had a section near the end the made the microwave tower and the Murkoff ties completely obvious the ending would have been much better IMO. everyone finishing the game would be like, "OH YEA! I GET IT!"

instead everyone is immediately hitting up Google for an explanation.

Yeah. That document you shared proved that I was wrong and Outlast 2 has SOME mention of Murkoff... but that's assuming you remember the name of an unseen character mentioned in an optional document to pick up in the first game. Not exactly a super-strong tie.
