Goliath Heavy Combat Suit

I bought this one plus the laser yesterday, and now i'm wondering if the only option to actually use it is buying Energy Crystalls from the Market?

I've seen a yt vid. where the suit seem to generate energy on it's own... so, what am i missing here?
