Unless they changed it you can literally exchange ingame money for premium game time. If you play a lot you can basically stay in premium perm.
Means some resource gathering juggling, but it is doable. Also, nothing that is gameplay is paywalled, so again, wtf?
Luckily, they removed all that. So to the OP, you might want to check it out now before you warn others - it might not entirely excuse their attempt at the practice, but maybe it has some redeeming qualities now. :)
- Before ascension : everything was time gated
- NOW :
1. There is officially no "limits" : you get ONE mission to advance ONE bastion per day
2. you also get ONE set of missions from the council
3. 4 weeks ago, they changed the cathedral, to allow you to farm might via adepts. Since this last patch this wednesday, you are limited to 100 free followers per day. Unlimited if you pay. You can convert argents to credits, and then credits to adepts. You cannot convert credits to argents anymore, this has been removed in the ascension update last august.
All end game content requires a certain level of prestige to be accomplished. With the current mechanoid invasion, the number is around 400 millions. To reach that number, you will need 300 000 base might (any source) and all your stuff (which is also time-gated as drops are limited to 1 per boss per day, unless you pay) at max rating.
So, as I said : you will enjoy this game as the dicovery period IS fun. As soon as you have all classes and your god status, it becomes a grind, as you will have covered ALL the game content by the time you reach this point (apart from the 3 10-people raids and the 8 invasion maps that you can play only and only when you have your god form).
IF you want to play the end game content, the ONLY way to reach the required might and equipments is through premium status (I dont remember which ranks of premium gives you double drops from bosses) and through money.
Now of course, 3000 hours of playtime mean I dont know what I am talking about.
Don't believe me if you want. I am not telling you to stop playing. I am telling you to enjoy it while you do, and then don't spend any money in it, it's a waste.
They did not remove ANY timegates. They changed them and made them less obvious. They are still there. If you dont want to believe me today, you will in 6 months when you will have covered all the basic content and try to do the end game stuff...
My character was 250 million prestige or so when I stopped playing. I stopped due to the botting virus that attacked with a freaking bug that allowed a lot of people to gain 60 millions prestige in ONE week end of botting.
I am not mad at my.com. They ARE a bad publisher and only care about your wallet.
If you dont want to believe me, read about allods history. The allods team is the parent company of my.com.
The tiger has not changed its stripes.
Enjoy the game while you do, and just don't give them a cent.
Take care,
François
Game is very fun at the start until you realize there will be no way to compete unless you are willing to shell thousands of euros into this Russian cash grab.
Even at the early stages, those who pay will be more powerful compared to those who wont. By paying you can instantly unlock multiple temples and extra talent slots. You can get those without paying with a rate of one per every 4-6 months incase you dedicate your life to this game. Or you can shell 200 euros and get them instantly.
PC community in this game has been dying for a while now. Steam release will make it look better until the Steam community also realizes whatkind of crash grab this game is.
Honestly I enjoyed the game, play it casual, find some friends, progress together. That's it. Just forget about the end game content :) And let me stress out that you must not give them any money at all :)
End-game costs $1,000? Really?
Cheater, Cheater, Cheater, Cheater, Cheater, Cheater, Cheater, Cheater, Cheater.
So, you will basically redo the same 30 maps again and again and again. Ad nauseam.
If it is your cup of tea, enjoy it.
