Has anyone had any luck getting multiplayer to work?
I've tried direct and steam but no go.

Multiplayer is experimental at the moment so it might work and it might not work

During internal testing we haven't have many problems in making it work through Steam multiplayer. It works in the following way: the host chooses Steam Multiplayer, then Host, then chooses the world and start the game. At that point any friend of the host should be able to see the host inside Steam Multiplayer view inside the game and join his world. Could you please elaborate how it doesn't work? Thanks!

We figured out that strangely if we're connecting to a chat service like Skype or Discord, we can't connect to each other for some reason. But if we both have it off then we can, although it'll pick and choose which one of us can host.

Where is Steam Multiplayer? Where do you host? Can't find any of these things at all.

Okay, we figured it out. You have to make a character and also hit New Game, then back out (Exit) before you see the Multiplayer option.

My husband hosted the game and I saw it on my Steam Multiplayer, and I went to join, but still get a connection error.

Is it because we're in the same household?

ADD: Oddly enough, it worked when I hosted. Strange.

My brother and I are both online and we cannot join eachother's games at all. Steam is right in showing we are both in game and even gives us the option to join eachothers games, but ultimately will not let us. I don't know what I should do and I can't find any tips to get multiplayer up and running.

Hello, if you are in the household you could have better luck by trying direct multiplayer instead that Steam, this could give better and more reliable connection especially when playing in LAN (local area networks). The principle is the same, the only difference is that the host will see his IP address in the game interface and the player that wants to join insert that number when joining. Let us know it that works, otherwise we'll try to investigate further.

Steam tries to open connection between two steam users by checking various ways but under certain specific networks circumstances it can fail (or it can work as soon as you try again). But these aspects are not under our direct control as we rely on their system to open the connection.

We tried that as well and it did not work. ]: It would just bump back to the multiplayer selection menu.

That's really strange, sounds like some problem related to firewall or Windows settings, is Junk Jack allowed as an exception on both machines?

On mine it is for sure. I can't say I'm very sure for his.

My wife and I tried direct connect but couldn't get it to work but connecting through steam does. I'll have to look at her computer after work to see if she has it allowed through the firewall.
