Wood planks and boards

So suddenly in my game, wood planks require wood boards and wood boards require wood planks!? Kinda stuck. :P Wood boards should require jsut regular wood.

That is a bit confusing, but its set up so you can craft wood planks into boards and vice versa. There are two ways to make wood boards. The way you mentioned already, and another recipe I can't remember off the top of my head. Search it on the wiki.

had the same deal...just another recipe though ..think maybe small planks to planks or something.

Hmm...wierd. That recipie seems to be gone then. I swear I used it twice before the other recipie showed up and "took over".

Managed to figure this out. Firstly you need to disable simple crafting so you can manually craft items. Then manually craft a wooden board by putting a wood block in the centre square of the crafting area and a second in the bottom right square. Create a few wooden boards and then place 4 in a square in the bottom right 4 squares of the crafting area to make the wooden planks block. Hope that helps.

Wow, thanks for this solution! It helped me out, too.

Does anyone know if this inability to make wood boards from the start is a bug? Maybe it is a recipe you need to get from a crate but the OP said something about that recipe being replaced by the recipe that recycles wood planks back into boards. In any case, I find this whole thing rather bizarre.
