Yeah, this might be a bug then, because I'm getting it too.
I also constantly have mobs spawning all over my roof... I put some jack-o-lanterns on my roof to stop them but that only stops nighttime mobs as daytime mobs don't seem to care about lighting.
I don't get those in my terra homes. Like, ever.
It was a mistake also making my crop fields here as theres no safe time to pick them.. 24/7 enemy spawning. (Too bad tilled earth doesn't prevent spawning)

Had to add a wall on the roof on each side to stop the masses.

I think it might be an underground thing.
On Umbra I built a town and a castle, with a sewer system. The town and castle are above ground and I have mobs all over my rooftops but not inside. The sewer, which is underground enough that it has automatic backwalls, gets mobs in it constantly. The lights only prevent zombies, but it still fills up with bats and slimes.
On Terra my house is an entirely underground bunker and constantly has spiders and stuff spawning inside.
