So who is the "Ultimate Impostor"?
We already know it isnt Byakuya Togami because we know who the fat kid is from the first episode of the Despair Arc

Your question confuses me. I thought the fat kid from the first episode was the ultimate imposter.

His name is Ryota Mitarai and he had Ultimate Animator as a talent

And, he appeared in Future Arc aswell in the first episode , so he clearly isn't the ultimate impostor (15:07 episode 01)

The ultimate imposter gets introduced as Byakuya in the game, but even after he dies, Byakuya is still alive. What if the fat kid is pretending to be the ultimate animator? Anyway, I'm probably wrong, and the fact that my memory is horrible and it's 6 am probably doesn't help, but whatever. Going to sleep, so I won't respond for a while

You are not wrong with assuming that but he appeared in both Despair Arc and Future Arc and Im pretty sure Ultimate Impostor can only pretend to be someone who actually exist.

So the ultimate animator exist since he is in the future arc aswell. But what I don't find it to make it sense that he was one of the remnants of despair yet they don't treat him any kind of remorse?

The Ultimate Imposter gets killed in DR2. I don't think the Ultimate Animator in the future arc is a remnant of despair.

The Ultimate Imposter disguses himself as whoever he sees fit. When we see him acting as a member of Ultimate Despair, he's very clearly disguised as Byakuya.

The Future Foundation can probably clearly tell that the actual Ultimate Animator isn't the Ultimate Imposter.

Also, as far as we're aware, he has no identity. Hell, he might not even be a he.

I like to think that the Ultimate Imposter isn't actually dead, or at least will be revived along with the other students who "died" in the Neo World simulation and as we result we will see more of them, because they should clearly have a more important role in some way.

You should watch the Danganronpa 3 anime.

Uhhhh, the post you're going to read is from someone who actually finished DR3, so spoils in hidden text. They already revealed that the Ultimate Imposter took the Ultimate Animator's place in the 77th class with a detailed explanation. He took Byakuya's persona when on Jabberwock for whatever reason. Questions regarding the ultimate animator have already been answered, so I honestly don't see where this confusion is coming from. As for his true identity, knowing it would kinda ruin the purpose of his talent.

He took Byakuya's appearance because, prior to that, he was never in close proximity to Byakuya. He took Ryota's place because Byakuya was going to be coming to the school next year and he couldn't keep the same persona as someone that was close by, for obvious reasons.

and in DR3- Hope Arc, he shows up again, posing as a fat Munakata. Though I think he shows up as fake Togami first.
