[SPOILERS] Many translations errors / inconsistencies and text errors
I havnt been through the whole game, I only completed the first two trials and already the game is beginning to be seriously annoying.
I really enjoyed Danganronpa 1 and I purchased it in the bundle so I decided to give a shot to the 2nd one, but it looks like the translators really REALLY screwed up some parts of the story, thus leading to the need for some retries, fails and (sadly) the need of a walkthrough...

Text errors
This was written right after I completed the second trial and... during that second PTA tutorial they tells you to hit the "B" button (i'm playing with a controller) and... that is wrong, the button that have to be pressed is the "A" button... And it's not the only error, during the "Logic Dive", the tutorial (if I remember correctly) uses RB and LB to brake, jump AND accelerate (weird huh ? Two buttons, three purposes). BUt when I started the game, as I found it weird, I had a look at the controls and it showed "A" to Accelerate, "B" to Brake and finally "Y" to Jump.
Also... During some "random" parts of the story, they asks you to press a "Diamond" button, which is in fact the "Y" button. It's really weird, and disturbing... The first game didnt had those failures

Unclear instructions
Very short part, but when they teach you, during the second trial, to use those "flashback rounds" or w/e it's called, they tell you things about those blue arguments, about the fact that it can't be used on... Does that means we can't LOAD those arguments AND SHOOT at them, or does that only mean we can't LOAD them ?
Another thing, about the "white noises", I don't know if it's some english "Metaphore" or anything but... The "noises" are PURPLE and not "WHITE".

Translation errors / inconsistencies
By playing the game I noticed, for now, one translation error per case.

During the first case, during the first PTA, you have to tell where the weapon is hidden, according to the game "Meat on the bone"... And I thought, and tried again and again (thanks to unclear instructions and some translations errors) to write "On the meat bone"... Because it sounded logical, "Where is the weapon hidden ? On the meat bone" sounds better than "Where is the weapon hidden ? Meat on the bone".

During the second case, after the vote is casted, Sonia (was it her ?) noticed a flaw. And figured out that Peko isnt Sparkling Justice by her "Nationality" (Found the answer after 3 guesses out of 4). Why that much guesses ? Again, thanks to the translation... And maybe because that part was REALLY hard to translate. Explainations below :
- Special ability : I thought at the beginning it was it, because the catchphrase wasnt quite the same. Also a catchphrase is a catchphrase, it should always be the same... Though a catchphrase isnt a "special ability" it's still "special" and... Again... Thanks to those unclear translations, lead me into this error
- Gender : Because I thought I let away a "he" in the original catchphrase, or something like that, okay this one can be really considered as a mistake
- Nationality : According that Danganronpa takes place in Japan (originally) and that all characters are Japanese EXCEPT FOR SONIA (who is English right ? Correct me if i'm wrong). So, in the English version she talks English, saying in English a Spanish catchphrase (I don't recall she said it before the trial that Sparkling Justice is Spanish). AND We know that she's a big fan of Japanese stuff, she tells she's into J-Drama AAAANNNDDD Back to serial killers, she mentioned Genocide Jack and Sparkling Justice in a row... Leading to errors.

So thing is, i'd like to know your opinion on this text because the more the game advances, the more annoying it gets.

Also, unrelated, I think the new "trial minigames" are absolutely horrible.
The new hangman habit is simply pure luck and can't even rely on skill as the aim speed is too low despite having the upshift skill, sometimes getting to an edge of the screen to the other edge to prevent one letter you "let go" to encounter another letter that just spawned is just impossible and kinda annoying.
The new PTA is also kinda... boring, you just have to press "A" (at this point I just completed the second case), again and again, at least the first Danganronpa Bullet time...thing was more interesting... "charging" by pressing A with a certain tempo while "arguments" pop on screen and then pressing "Y" to attack was better.
And the Climax argument is just a real pain... tips are really... misleading, useless, boring and the gameplay is just awful, you just lose too much time searching for the correct spot with your current set, then you go back to the beginning with another set, I don't understand why the devs didnt kept the same gameplay for those as Danganronpa 1, instead of making them boring as F***

On the other hand, the "blue weakspots" I don't remember the name they gave it AND the rebuttal showdown are really a great add.

In the end, this looks more like a "Review" than just a discussion, but instead of posting it on the review part, I'll just leave this here because I havnt completed the game yet and I want to complete it... before reviewing it.

I have to ask, are you playing the game in Japanese or in English? I'm just curious.

Yeah, there are a lot of translation errors, although I don't recall them being that bad. However, about White noise, White noise refers to the term "distracting or meaningless commotion", the name doesn't refer to the color of the words.

Honestly, the translation errors were a minor annoyance, but nothing game ruining. It's possible I may have not noticed it though. And yeah, I'm not a big fan of the changes to the hangman's gambit nor the climax reasoning changes, climax reasoning is still fun to me though. I actually liked PTA, it was fun, although I still prefer Btb more though.

I wasn't really bothered by most of what you said tbh. Screw that "meat on the bone" thing though...
The only "real" "mistake" that was kinda weird was a certain part near the end in which the translation is a bit ambiguous and leads the reader to assume something different than what really happened (it's really, really minor though). I only knew about this because a friend told me.
I don't think Sonia is English. She's from a fictional country (that *probably* speaks English or Japanese) but IIRC there's a minor inconsistency there regarding language at some point during the story but I can't quite remember now.
About Sparkling Justice: they keep his identity ambiguous and the Spanish part may actually either be a reference or a red herring that links to a certain character in the Killer Killer DR manga. I can't say more as I would spoil it though (plus, so far, it's only fan speculation).

Oh okay, will look forward to it.

Thank you both for your answers
