Island Mode: Never Been able to complete...
...the final two tasks. I can never farm enough resources and keep the place clean. This unfortunately is resulting in about 6-7 playthroughs of Island Mode. Somebody shoot me...

At least for me it was actually pretty easy, you can do the first three tasks in a few days and the rest you use them to buy the tools, I've played it 3 times and won it 2 (of course I failed it in my first playthrough).

I must be doing something wrong. There are just too many materials needed for things like Saw and Wood and Clay. I can't get three different items to make up one thing AND keep the place clean

You could use some guides to improve that, but I generally use only 1 or 2 to keep the cleaning stuff, and the rest will go find materials.

If you've played through it around 7 times, your characters should have quite high levels for mining and cleaning.

In general, you'll want to complete the first few assignments as fast as possible, which shouldn't be too hard given your high levels, then spend any "free" days on creating the various items that help increase how many material you can find. That should help you get those last two objectives done with.

As for cleanliness, same thing, but create those items that increase cleaning efficiency. If all else fails, craft a few of those consumables that let you immediately restore cleanliness.

I always use all my cleaning upgrades on one character, buy the cleaning boost tool things, and use only one character to clean for the whole game. Took me a few playthroughs to level everyone up in the collecting skills but once I did it was a piece of cake ;D
