Do people actually like Nagito Komaeda?(spoilers for all games)
Never understood why he actually has fans.I understand a bit why Kokichi, hes just messing around for fun but Nagito literally tries to take down everyone with him in every trial and gets other students killed because of him most of the time.Hes actually the worst in the series with that god awful personality so why does he actually have fans?

Well, part of the problem is that you're not really understanding the character.

For example, it was only in the fifth trial that Nagito intended to kill everyone. For the others:
  • While he was was working towards that end in the first trial, it was more about Teruteru needing an advocate than actually seeking everyone's death.
  • In the second trial, Nagito worked to defeat Peko's "just a tool" argument that would have killed everyone if Monokuma accepted it. I don't recall what else he influenced, but my recollection is that he worked to reveal the truth, not to obscure it.
  • In the third trial, Nagito was very intent on taking down the blackened, because he recognized she was acting out of despair.
  • In the fourth trial, Nagito has interest in protecting the life of the unknown traitor, and maybe his own albeit to a lesser extent, so he was again working towards the group's survival.

Nagito is an elitist, not a nihilist. His apparent lack of self-worth is that he views his own 'worthless' talent as making him lesser than the others, and so his life has little value in comparison.

His interest in the competition between the spotless and blackened students is in the idea that the struggle could result in the others refining their talents to the point of being, for lack of a better term, super-elite. An 'ultimate hope', if you will. So the lives of elites are not so important in comparison to that of a super-elite.

It's only when Nagito learns the students are the remnants of despair that he is actively seeking their deaths.

Alright fair enough
But he also was always againts hajime cuz he had amnesia or pretending to,no?
And dont forget him in despair girls or his story after junko died.
As i see it hes only obssesed with hope vs despair and is always the cause of it cuz he starts it by triggering someone else like teruteru

Pretty sure the only time he was ever against Hajime was after he learned who Hajime was. At one point he accused Hajime of being untrustworthy, but only to prompt you to prove you are innocent, so your testimony can't be be accused of being false later, such as by the killer. And stuff like UDG were made after this game, and because of the memory wipe don't factor in much anyway.

i think he was againts hajime in first trial too because he was "hiding" his talent.
dont remember too much given its been 3 years since i played the game fully but i think 3rd trial was only time he was actually helping out and was againts the guilty.
other than that he just kept being in the way of everyone

I think he's a really interesting character psychologically and thematically, I love that he's basically a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up version of Makoto, and he makes the trials interesting with his unpredictible behavior. He's certainly hateable but I find him fun to hate

Nagito is a very complicated character and you need to spend some time to at least try to understand him. Personally, I'm pretty sure I'd hate Nagito if I didn't make Hajime spend free time with him. In his FTEs, Nagito not only reveals a lot of personal information but his FTEs are very important to the plot (you have to pay attention to what he's saying).
I'll describe him short. Nagito had behavioral variant of frontotemporal dementia, 3rd stadium of malignant cancer and was clearly suicidal. Yeah, it (labeling him as suffering of bvFTD) seems like another try of using illnesses to explain bad behavior what makes it look ableist but "Danganronpa" is problematic itself so I don't think complaining about it makes sense. He also genuinely loved Hajime what for me, a queer person, is both a nice thing and something not nice because he was depicted in that way (in the other hand, DR was never about making representation).

thats wrong. nagito made up his illness as a prank. the reason he is insane is because his luck causes good things to follow bad events, so he feels no remorse causing bad events. this is also part of his rambling about hope, as he sees it as 'more despair = more hope' to come after it.

If you're serious about calling his illness a "prank", then you're the one being wrong. Nagito was literally dying during the despair disease what confirms his poor condition.

Because when I was still struggling hard with BPD he felt like someone who could relate to my problems, and I could relate to his. And hey, a little weirdness never hurt anyone, except for Nagito in chapter 5, but that aside- xD

I get why people are divided over him, but he's not outright evil, as was already stated. He's very set on his own, admittedly twisted way of creating hope. Very much a good summary of the concept of despair, Nagito is the most meta character xD He is a truly well written character no matter how you put it. Hate him or love him, people are talking about him.

And as a third reason: I just always fall for the crazy ones xD They're more fun ^^
