But it shouldn´t be a problem to start with the second game either, since you´ve watched the anime adaptation.
I would start with the first game too.
Watched the Anime first as well, but while watching I always had the feeling the story just did not work properly as an anime and would fit a game much better (I did not know a game existed I stumbled on the show by accident xD)
If you just care for knowing the story tho...
There should be no harm skipping game 1, you saw all the important stuff, just missed extra info and tidbits on the chars and some sidecontent I think.
But yeah, play THH, learn the mechanics.
Personally I waited literally few days and got lucky! There was Dangaronpa Producer sale bought two first games on sale and they wait for their turn now:)
