Speaking of DR3, go ahead and watch it if you want any kind of closure to the Hope's Peak saga, but only after finishing Zero and UDG!
DR0 (light novel) is highly recommended for explaining Junko Enoshima a bit better.I'd actually recommend it before DR3 (also, Despair Girls before DR3 if you're going to do it).
The IF story attached to DR2 is fine and worth a read if you like alternate universes. Also you get to see lots about Mukuro and it has Mondo actually being the Ultimate Biker at one point, which is definitely awesome.
The other DR light novels ... um ... they're just not so good. Kirigiri seems the most interesting to me (and also the one I haven't been able to find a translation of the end of it). Hagakure is pretty well dismissed. Togomi is pretty bad. Go ahead and read them if you like, but don't expect anything great.
Komaeda the World Ender (should be attached to V3) is pretty entertaining, though I'd hold off on watching it until you're through the Despair Arc of DR3 because it's really an extra episode that fits on the end of it before Hope Arc.
Huh. That's weird. I'd swear I first heard his distinctive laugh in the anime. Are you watching the dub? That might be the difference.I always go for subtitles if available.
