Fanservice?
So I played Danganronpa 1 and I loved it so I bought Danganronpa 2 as well. I am currently at the first Free Time event. But I am very confused. There was this short scene where Mikan fell and it was obviously a fan service scene, but it was so strange. Like, it made no sense, even for a fanservice scene. I just don't quite get it why it even happened and why the developers put that in there in the first place, considering the first game didn't have any fanservice. At least I can't remember it. Like, was there a reason that is being revealed later? Or is it like a deconstruction or something like that of illogical fanservice scenes?

The first game had fanservice as well, usually focused around The Ultimate Swimmer (her name escapes me) as for Mikan if you do some free-time events with her it'll make sense and as you go further into the plot stuff like that will make more sense as well.

But the difference between Hina and Mikan is that Mikan was actually shown in a sexual way. That never happended with Hina. Anyway, I'm glad that this will make more sense later on.

It'll make more sense regardless of if you spend time with her... as ridiculous as it may be, they at least tried to make use of her being like that. XD

The difference of that scene however is that it actually makes sense, there's a reason behind it that wouldn't seem out of place in reality, whereas Mikan can be a walking fanservice at any moment for no better reason than 'I tripped' which tbh seems to be her secret ultimate talent

Mikan is.. unique. Her Free Time Events kind of explain it.

Yeah, not gonna lie, i feel like there is a lot more fanservice in DR2 than DR1. Especially the "beach episode" moment (you know what i'm talking about).
I still like the game, though.

deconstruction lol
Even Mikan's execution is pure fanservice
I can't see evidences behind all those bathing suits.

Actually, that scene was important for the trial. It was to prove a certain someone wasn't in the room at the time.

I am pretty sure it was also in there to throw people off.

Well it worked on me, I guess.

Mikan just wants you to notice her. Whether positively or negatively, she doesn't care, just as long as you notice.
