HELP!! Rebuttal Showdown with Peko (Trial 2)
Okay, so I have honestly sat here for about an hour or something trying to beat this specific part of the game. I cant, for the life of me, beat the cross-swords section no matter what I do.

I can slice through Peko's words with ease and I know that which rebuttal blade to use but... no matter how much I button mash that left button on my mouse, I always fail. (Note: there doesn't seem to be any issues with my mouse itself... the rest of the game has played smoothly up till now..)

Am I doing something wrong here?
Is this a bug?

Or is she just simply OP as all hell and I should just submit to defeat?
Because honestly, after what seems like a lifetime wasted on this stupid section, I am fully prepared to give this game the finger and walk away before I punch my laptop with Peko's face on the screen...
If you got the option to actually kill someone in this game, she would be my first choice... followed by Hiyoko and Mikan.

(I am playing on gentle to enjoy the story for my first playthrough so why is this so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard???? Maybe I just suck at games... OTL)

I actually had a more difficult time with the last crossed sword battle in Trial 4. Just keep trying - Trial 2 is much easier comparatively speaking.

Nah, you're just unlucky, this trial is relative easy, try to break every argument she use, except the argument in yellow or she will break you, pay attention to your sword count, just to be sure to not run off, when you pass the first part, just find the hole in her argument, you need to break every argument, if you leave to cross swords, your chances will be small against her hahah don't give up so easily, the game can be challenging in some parts... (I'm speaking of you third trial e.e)

I break every argument she throws at me up until the cross sword section, no matter how much I click, I always get a fail... I've even ran out of time twice trying to beat it. I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong.

If I remember correctly, Peko's argument sentences aren't diagonal so just pay very close attention to which direction your sword cuts need to go in (vertical or horizontal on either the arrow keys or WASD keys). I don't remember having that tough of a time with this argument and it was before I'd switched to Gentle difficulty for the rest of the game.

I was stuck too:steamsad:, and the only advice I can give you is to mash the hell out of the button.
I've been stuck there too. But you'll have to keep an eye on your sword count & do NOT miss any of the arguments, you NEED to destroy them all. (I don't think you can actually win against her by smashing mouse buttons. You HAVE TO destroy every single argument.) & then you should have the 'advance' and the next round begins without you having to smash your mouse.

It wasn't the other parts I was having problems with, just specifically the part where you have to mash the mouse button to win the cross swords part, but it's all good, I passed it!

It turned out to be that my laptop was running the game too slow, this was why I kept on losing. But I have a pc which runs the game much faster (and now all the parts that I once found easy are now more difficult with their speed).

It had nothing to do with the sword count |: it was literally only the cross swords section (where you have to button mash the left mouse button) that I kept failing at, after a few months of not playing the game due to the fact my laptop broke, I finally got my hands on an actual computer (rip me and my wallet) which runs the game much more quicker than my sh***y laptop ever did and I beat the cross swords section in seconds flat.

Was good to learn that I wasn't abysmal at games after all XD unfortunate to see my laptop go though... at least I didn't lose any progress XD

Oh okay thanks for letting me know, I really thought u cannot win by smashing your mouse button, cause I never happened to win.
Glad you can continue & enjoy the game now. :happy_creep:

For the first part of the cross sword section, I smashed every sentence of hers and reached a combo of 10 but still failed. Anyone remembers what's the combo number that it need to pass and develop the dialogue?
