Game won't launch

So I bought THH yesterday and installed it, but the game won't launch at all. I get the launch tab which includes video options and control hints, but when I click launch nothing happens at all. My OS is windows 8 and I have DirectX 11.

I had this issue for a while as well; what ended up working for me was uninstalling the game, deleting the entire game folder (Documents\My Games\Danganronpa), and re-installing.

I had the same problem, whenever I tried to start the game appeared a white screen. Everything I found indicated that it was a problem with a save file but deleting and reinstalling did not work.
I recently managed to solve it: I deleted the folder "Documents \ My Games \ Danganronpa" and then in the game properties (library, left click on the game) you have to go to updates and disable the steam cloud to prevent steam reinstall the save file. I hope it works for you, so you can continue to enjoy this spectacular game. One thing, obviously this method causes one to lose the saved games. Sorry for the bad english, it is not my first language.

Ok, so I got this problem not too long ago so I thought I'd put my two cents in here so people don't go around thinkin' they gotta delete their save files and start from ground zero. This method totally works, but what you can do to retain your save files and everything is copy the "savedata.vfs" folder to your clipboard. What I did was paste it into a new folder on my desktop for good measure, then continue with the process of deleting the folder, disabling the steam cloud, etc.

After all is said and done, just go back into the newly re-made Danganronpa folder, delete the new savedata.vfs file, paste your old one in, and try running the game. Hope this helps somebody! (o^-')b

I tried this. I uninstalled the game and deleted the folder in My Games, when i opened it up, it worked fine. Then I replaced the new vfs file with my save data, tried running the game again, and it doesn't work. So there's clearly a problem with my save data. Is there any fix for this? I just finished the game and got all main presents from the MonoMono Machine (including Escape Button), I really don't wanna start over :(

im currently facing this problem. i got a new SSD as my old one is not working anymore and i had to reinstall steam. but when i reinstalled this game it just wont launch

I had the same problem but I modified in “video options” the graphic to opengl and it worked. i hope that work for anyone that has the same problem
