SPOILERS: Can Anyone Explain These Inconsistencies and Abandoned Plot Points?
UPDATED

So I just beat the game and well...the ending...

I took a lot of physical notes during my playthrough (which resulted in me figuring out a lot of things well before the characters ever did in some cases) and realized that there were a few threads of the story that got abandoned. Anybody have any ideas...or do I just have to play the 2nd one to find out?

1.) The crime-scene in the classroom on the 5th floor. There were 8 chalk-outlines. That means that 8 students at the high school presumably died and somehow it is related to "The Tragedy". This is never revisited. Also the bodies were outlined...so that means the police were there, unless Kyoko was heading that case and drew them before her memory wipe. Also who killed them? Genocide Jill? They abandon the room completely (for all I know, those bodies could be in the Bio-lab freezers instead of the current batch of kids [sans Mukuro] ).

-So this was the first killing mentioned in the novels (DR/Zero). The entire student council engaged in a killing game led by Junko and Izuru. But the novels mention that 13 students died, not 8.

2.) Junko's role. I figured she was controlling Monokuma...but that's not entirely correct. At the end, she dies (or falls into the basement like Makoto did earlier) and Monokuma gets up and proclaims himself to be the headmaster. But this is also incorrect because the FIRST scene of the game is Monokuma executing the real headmaster (Kyoko's father). So we really have no idea who the headmaster/mastermind is. Also Monokuma is STILL active despite not having a pilot [fancy-pants A.I. like Alter-Ego maybe? Eh]. All we know is that Kyoko's father is dead. Junko went SPLAT but I'm not convinced.
- Also if Junko counts as a student, why is she exempt from being put on trial til the end? She should be forced to follow the rules like everyone else, right? And she was alive the entire time.

-Okay so it turns out she did die and Monokuma somehow becomes autonomous. Showing the condition of the outside world could had made this little "cliffhanger" part much more bearable though. Haha, "bear"able.

3.) The secret room in the bathroom on floor 2. It was full of information and a note that said, "You must not leave". Who wrote it? Who was it written to? Why did Junko jump you later and steal all the information there? Once again, it's never touched on afterwards.

4.) The Archive is full of classified government documents that nobody in the outside world is privileged to know about. Why? Who put them there? Who would even have copies of all that crap? How would they even get it? And even more importantly...
-Why is it sitting out in the open in the archive and not locked up in the secret room on floor 2? The game prevents you from seeing the archive at first, but the door is never actually locked.

-Okay, they were government-funded. So I could understand them being onsite. It's still a little strange that they'd be open to everyone though.

5.) The 2nd floor dorms. What the hell happened there? What gives with the giant, bloody, Egyptian "Horus/Wadjet Eye"? There are some lockers there that were used before the mind-wipe...but who uses Egyptian symbols as a calling card? It's just out of place and never even commented on. Also why are some of the lockers BOLTED shut. Is that where the 8 bodies from the 5th-floor massacre reside? Why show us this?

6.) How does a fashion model hijack airwaves and maintain an army of panda robots? I mean a genius student built the air purifier and I presume the robots too, but at some point; Junko had to set up the entire TV broadcast and know how to activate a disabled motion-sensing bomb from a scrapped Monokuma. Who built everything (Chihiro pre mind-wipe?) and how is it maintained despite no access to the outside world? And how does Junko know how to operate it?

- Danganronpa/Zero cleared this one up. Apparantly Junko is incredibly prolific and good at many skills. Which makes it odd that the researchers at the academy didn't study her more closely when she embodied everything they were trying to create. Ah well.

7.) Who got Hina pregnant? I mean they never tell you that she is actually pregnant...but the odd food cravings, the random illnesses, the bigger boobs, the fact that she thinks she has gained weight. What gives? Why even bring it up? In the bad ending Hiro and Makoto knock her up, but she is presumably pregnant during the entire game. For what point?

8.) The pick-axe. It was said to be Mondo's. Why would he even have a pick-axe? Bringing a pick-axe to school is a very bad idea. But it never comes in useful, and they never explain what the connection is.

9.) Why would Celeste tell the fat kid her real name? She already had him around her finger.

-I watched the anime episodes that dealt with this case and it actually did a much better job of explaining it. The head-trauma jogged his memory. They really should've pointed that out in the game though. That's kind of a big oversight.

10.) Why are all the victim's Handbooks in a mailbox by the front door? Where were they going to be sent?

So yeah. I have a few ideas about some of these...but it's really all just speculation. In any case, these are the things that never got resolved in the ending and I'm pretty bummed about it. I sorta felt like the ending copped-out. It would have been greatly enriched by learning what happened at the school before the mind-wipe....ESPECIALLY the classroom on floor 5 and the 2nd floor dorms.

Thanks,
~Java

"Oh, and it is REALLY dark; I mean, way more so than either of the first two games."

Honestly I looked into that game after beating Danganronpa 2. It looked a LOT better. But #2 (and DR/Zero) really turned me off to the whole series. But I know that Ultimate-Despair Girls gives you much more information about the Remnants of Despair, so it seemed pretty cool.

As for the photo; it kind of seems like Hina has a kid with Hiro and Makoto. Byakuya has a kid too but he's holding a picture of Toko...so maybe she has Byakuya's kid and dies in childbirth or something.

I dunno, I really lost interest after beating Danganronpa 2. #2 could have done so much to enhance the overall story and give greater insight to the first game. Ah well.

You don't actually get that many information abotu the Remnants in UDG. You see Komaeda, and that's about it. You only learn what he does for a very short period of time after becoming a despair.

Oh seriously? I thought I remembered seeing screen-shots of the game where you walk up to every member of the Remnants of Despair.

Those are fanmade. The only Remnants you see are Nagito and Izuru.

The full detail of first killing game is shown on Danganronpa 3 despair Arc ep 7. A clip can be seen on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mn6tjjnzHUs. Note there's one person killed by Mukuro before this. (detail on http://danganronpa.wikia.com/wiki/The_Tragedy_of_Hope%27s_Peak_Academy) There is at least 3 that got killed on the hallway

When you are ready, proceed to Danganronpa 3 (The anime; the game is set after the Hope's Peak)

7. Actually if you read carefully the conversation between makoto and hiro during Free Time, you will know the answer. There is one point that hiro forecast that he and makoto will have a same wife in future. Yeah it kind of bizzare but assume that they never leave the school (bad ending), it is possible lol.. But the child resemble makoto more lol
