What would happen if...
After playing all the games there's one thing I'm curious about. They've talked a lot about accomplices in the game, but never the idea of what would happen if there were actually multiple murderers. Like say what would happen in a scenario where two people decide to stab someone at the same time, or multiple people kill one person together. What do you think Monokuma would do in a scenario where the entire class chooses a sacrificial lamb and all of them just stab that person to death together?, all doing the fatal blow at the sane time. Would he be able to figure out what blow was the official kill blow?

Or what if while six students were left two people decided to murder 2 people each so the only ones left are the two blackened. It seems like he only counts it as one person being the murderer if there's a mastermind behind the plan like in Celestes case, but what about scenerios where multiple people decide to murder independently of eachother at the same time? Would it be whoever does it first that gets to be the blackened? Or maybe two trials in a row?

Is there some kind of explanation from material I haven't seen? Otherwise I'm curious on how you'd think it'd go down.

Monokuma handles exceptions on a case by case basis, and deliberately tries to keep things ambiguous so he's free to make whatever choice keeps things interesting.

The students actually ask about independent murders in the later games. I don't think it's a spoiler how they're handled, but I'm going to tag them just in case:
  • In DR2, Monokuma explains that after one person becomes blackened, he will actively intervene to prevent an independent murder.
  • In DRv3, Monokuma rules that only the first murder counts. Independent murders are a "wasted kill" -- no blackened, no class trial, and no possibility of execution or graduation.

Another question could be raised on, what if they died of natural causes. It is possible that someone could expose themselves to a serious allergen, like peanuts, and die from the reaction without someone else doing giving them the killing substance, even accidentally. Would it get treated as an accidental suicide or would it be another "waisted kill"

Knowing Monokuma he says that basically all deaths that aren't natural causes are murder, and further treats accidental killings as murder as well as seen by what caused Chiaki to be labeled a murderer that if someone prepared the peanuts they'd be considered the murderer and if someone did it to themselves it'd be a Sakura situation of a self murder. That would be my assumption for the peanut hypothetical. Monokuma seems like the type to treat an accidental death like a murder just to mess with everyone.

That's what fangans are for! Though oddly enough, I haven't seen any unusual situations like that in fangans yet. Maybe I haven't read enough yet.

The students would never agree to do that because there can still only be one blackened, so regardless of how the trial goes, both the sacrificial lamb and whoever they voted for would be dead and none of them would go free. It would be shooting themselves in the foot.
