Skills and skill points
OK so I know the game lets you replay a chapter so that you can go back and do more free time events and get more skills. But is there any way to get those skills into a save file without replaying the entire chapter, trial included? Because I really don't feel like playing through an entire trial multiple times just to get a couple more skills.

You don't have to play through the class trial. You can just go through the chapter and do the Free Time, then save and exit and choose a different chapter, and you still keep all the skill points and skills.

Until you complete the game you cannot jump to any part of the game you haven't finished, so you must at least replay the last class trial to get back to the newest section.

To OP, nope. That's the cost of being able to do that. With all skills unlocked the trials become trivial even on the hardest difficulty. So you either replay the trials or you don't get the unlocks (until you run through school mode).

Yes but they were asking if they had to replay the class trial every time they replayed a chapter in order to keep the skils, and I was telling them, no, they don't have to.

Or just finish the game and get school mode, that way, you can get free times without replaying the game.

Ahh true, you only need to do the trial once as yoiu can jump back to the start o the chapter once you've done the final free time (though it can be useful to run it a couple of times for coins, you'll need presents for those free time events). Personally I didn't mind, I tried to 100% A every section of the trials so replaying them had a point, a least for me.
