Until you complete the game you cannot jump to any part of the game you haven't finished, so you must at least replay the last class trial to get back to the newest section.
To OP, nope. That's the cost of being able to do that. With all skills unlocked the trials become trivial even on the hardest difficulty. So you either replay the trials or you don't get the unlocks (until you run through school mode).
Ahh true, you only need to do the trial once as yoiu can jump back to the start o the chapter once you've done the final free time (though it can be useful to run it a couple of times for coins, you'll need presents for those free time events). Personally I didn't mind, I tried to 100% A every section of the trials so replaying them had a point, a least for me.
