Does this game have a lot of horror-elements?
So, this game seems pretty interestnig and I'm very tempted to buy it. The thing is, horror games aren't really my thing, so horror stuff usually ruins the gaming-experience for me. My question now is the following: Does this game have a lot of horror-elements or is it just 'mysterious'? Thanks in advance.

It isn't really horror as in jumpscares or sudden scares, it has mysterious elements that involve murder. As such, you can consider it almost psychological horror if you disregard the fact it is in a somewhat anime-cartoon style. It's still really good and it's not horror in a sense that would ruin your experience.

Thanks a lot, that's exactly the answer I was hoping for. Jumpscares are the worst in my eyes, and the chance of me dropping a game because of them is very high. I'm okay with the mystery-stuff and the murder and all, that style of game is completely fine. Thanks a lot!

The only jumpscare there is in this game is Monokuma everytime he show up something bad is going to happen.

The blood is pink....so its 50% less scary when you find a body. Its really just a murder mystery game. but its a good one.

There is no horror elements. Only mystery! From the beginning to the end

I always thought Makoto is a lot like Wedge, as in 'let him go, stay on the leader' and nobody would possibly have time to waste killing him, so even with all the murder going on you generally feel very safe as Makoto because you know no one's going to waste their time trying to kill him.
No petty horror here.

If the anime is anything like the game (which I'm very confident it is), it's more of a suspenseful kind of horror. There aren't many actual gory scenes, and there are absolutely no jumpscares.

Thanks everyone for all the feedback. I now am about halfway through the game ( in trial #3 ), and I have to admit it's an amazing game. It has some scary-ish elements at times, but I still enjoy it very much. I enjoyed it so much, I already bought Goodbye Despair even though I haven't finished the first one yet. But I simply know I'm going to enjoy the second game at least just as much, perhaps even more.

Sorry to necro, but I consider watching someone die in an extremely painful way right in front of your eyes to be at least a little bit of horror.
