How long is this game?
I'm considering getting the first Danganronpa game because of the weekend sale, and I want to know how long it'll be. If I like it, I'll probably look into the second one - later, because I don't want to spend too much at once.

It's around 30~40 hours long

I assume that's on the not-easy mode, right?

I'd say it's around 24+ hours long. It really depends on your reading speed and your perfered style of playing games. (if you like to wander and explore vs going straight to the objective). Plus after you complete the main game it unlocks some bonus content which can add even more time, if you wish to complete them as well.

Thanks! Just got the game and am looking forward to solving the mystery (am on Chapter 1, with Logic on "Mean" and Action on "Kind" for my first playthrough, hope I'm not unwittingly going to punish myself later!)

Even Mean/Mean isn't very hard tbh, the second game fixes this tho lol

Having finished my playthrough, I have to say it was pretty difficult for me - though I was mostly playing late at night while tired! :steamfacepalm:

If you think this is hard the second game will destroy you. I had some troubles with the first game and hoped the second game would be the same difficulty but the second game was like 3x as difficult lol

Maybe I should play on Kind/Kind or Mean/Kind and forget about going for all the achievements in DR2!

You can get all the achievements on the lowest difficulty tho? It just takes longer...

Even if I'm not good at Danganronpa, I still want a challenge (just not in the action minigames).

Well you could try setting the logic on mean and the action on kind, basically gives you a ton of choices in the nonstop debates and multiple choice questions, but the rest of the minigames are cake (idk how rebuttal showdowns are effected) with a couple particularly nasty exceptions like the spot selection in the 4th trial or the 2nd nonstop debate in the 2nd trial -_-

If a filthy casual like me can 100% DR1 and 2, you can too. (I didn't do either on Mean mode though lol)

How long did it take to get all the presents from the Monomono Machine? When should I start putting in multiple coins (after finishing off the coin and gallery achievements, of course)?

I only put in multiple coins before I realized it was actually a waste of coins to do that. Some people say it ups your chances, but I noticed that my RNG was such that 1 coin per spin was good enough. I'd say.. it took a few tries to gt all of the presents so... about... maybe 2-3 hours total? I really don't remember, as I had that achievement done when I stopped playing and fairly recently picked it back up to get the rest of the achieves.

I only started putting a ton of coins in when I ended up having all the gallery stuff unlocked and like 800 coins leftover from school mode playthroughs due to poor planning.
