Just asking because it's relevant to any discussion of Junko. The order is Tigger Happy Havoc, Goodbye Despair, Ultra Despair Girls, Danganronpa anime Future/Despair/Hope arcs, and Danganronpa V3.
You also likely want to read Danganronpa Zero after playing THH and GD. There's a bunch of light novels, but that's the most relevant.
ive watched all anime (except for 2.5, coz i find it hard to pay attention to sub)
recently got the games while theyre on sale. im playing through D2 rn, i know a rough summary of it. dont know who ahem.. "dies" but i have some hopes and guesses. oh shoot, im hoping people die. how despair inducing. xD
i read somewhere that Dv3 is an alternate timeline or something. so other than that one. i have a rough timeline of the events. and Junko is queen. she has drawn me to the side of despair. though i was pretty much there before i started.
I heard therre were novels. like one about togami that is supposedly trash, idk. and one about amnesia that supposedly doesnt have english translation but that could have been false info.
V3 is not as relevant, but there's still some stuff you might find interesting.
As for the anime, I'm fond of the Despair Arc for the characterization, but deeply disappointed at the "it was all hypnosis/brainwashing" ending. I really wanted to see Junko work at bringing down teh 74th class more.
I was disappointed that the anime didn't show Junko's systematic and lengthy poaching of Class 77-B into despair, because it didn't take near as short of a time that the anime depicts.
Otherwise, I thought DR3 Despair and Future were both really good.
Exactly. I wouldn't have minded the brainwashing combined with other tactics, but it really felt like a cop out. Here's Junko trying to prove that despair is better and .... then she doesn't rely on it for what she does to them.
but like i said, dont tell me. unless its a plot hole, im sure ill find out.
btw. i havent got to the first trial of D2 yet, in fact i dont think the murders happened yet.... wait, last i left off monokuma called me to the beach, but then i had to get off.
ill probably start up the game in a few minutes. i've just been busy.
Yes you will get an answer about Chiaka.
Have fun.
Never fear, Magical Girl Usami is here!
Have an English translation of Danganronpa Zero volume 1:

I'm really serious that if you love Junko, you need to read Zero.
I ... do not love Junko. I'm more of a general Danganronpa otaku. But I'm quite willing to help others with more specific interests.
Anyway, thanks for the link, ill be sure to save it
A free light novel bundled with DR2 that looks at what would have happened if Makoto won the Escape Button from the MonoMono machine before any murders took place. If I recall, it switches between his perspective and Mukuro's.
