Without spoilers is there actual gameplay in this?
I'm asking cause I hate visual novels. There's only a few I can play and that's cause they actually have engaging gameplay (like pheonix wright). I just played playing doki doki literature today for my channel and ragequit out of pure boredom apparently right before it got "interesting" (but at that point of boredom I don't think anything was gonna save it)

This game was gifted to me awhile back. I did plan to touch it at some point (i mean i can prbly handle a visual novel doing like an hour a day even if it was just pushing enter 5 million times) but I'm trying to figure out if it has engaging enough gameplay to at least do a run through on my channel or if it'll bore me literally want to shoot myself.

If by engaging gameplay you mean not only clicking but actually doing things on your own, then it probably is. Since you have to go around asking people all the time, and searching fo clues everywhere after someone's been killed. And if that's not enough, there are the trials as well. Actually, I think the trials are the best part of the game XD. Maybe for you it won't be the most engaging game ever, but i don't think you'll get bored too soon of this.

Yes. The Class Trial gameplay where you expose the killer and reveal a trick behind the murder scenes using truth bullet, the cosmetics are pretty additive and class trial gameplays are engaging.

Still unlike Pheonix Wright...the casts are mostly childish and talks nonesense many times, eventhough it does have some twisted and unique gameplay to make up for that, it doesn't mean it doesn't have subjective parts where it can be boring or annoying to people who simply aren't into it. Some dialogues can be downright said "uncalled" for, and completely useless.

Nonetheless it has gameplay, yes. Very interesting to say at least.

Well no the gameplay is not interesting. It<s a good game but those sections are pretty much useless.

Doki Doki is not a game, is a visual novel, it doesn't have any "gameplay" in it, just a few cosmetics effects (glitches) but that happens in Danganronpa 2 as well , so it's nothing new
