Here's the thing with that: The Red Cross symbol, specifically a literal red cross (and apparently other symbols of import to the ICRC), is an internationally-protected symbol, and under the Geneva Conventions, it is illegal to use it for any purpose beyond that they have allowed you to use it for, and they're notoriously pick about how the red cross is used (with good reason). Thankfully, the Red Cross is merciful in upholding this law and assumes the common layman had no idea this law even existed, and so just tells them to not show it. You remove it, because you don't question the Red Cross, and that's that.
