Help please! Can't play Multiplayer coop.

Hi, I tried like everything I could even shut down my firewall for Stardew and Steam for Steam to recognize I am online to connect with Stardew. So I start Stardew Valley, I click on "Coop" and I only see Lan-Game/ Local game. And all I can host is a local game. There is no option for me to enter a code to play with friends. Did some had the same issue and fixed it? Or please someone help.

What I tried: my steam is online, tried a network extend, tried a hotspot (different internet connection), my network provider does not seem to be the issue, because my roommate has Stardew too and can play it easily.

So, after u clicked Co-op .. u got a new screen where there should be the 2 tabs at the top ... Join / Host. If so, then u click Host -> Host New Farm .. right? If so, then you create your character [skip intro] etc. and once you are in the farm your co-op friend should be able to join you [even without a code] just clicking steam chat window. If you had not tried it, may give it a try.

Hi @CGFW, they also tried that and I tried that the other way around. It's not working :(

My friends had some issues with multiplayer while having the steam account invisible or offline and also having their account private. Maybe try putting it all public if you haven't yet.

So my account is public, but my steam account is offline even though I am online and I cannot change it. It is not letting me change it.

Are you using windows 7?

No, I use windows 10

So, you are in windows 10 and your steam is offline so also your friends list too offline naturally. Right? So, not only stardew but you cant play any other online games, right?

no, I am online and my friends are online too
I fixed the issue with being offline.

i still don't see your account to be fully public since your games and playtime are hidden, maybe try letting everything public and then change back if it doesn't work.

Can u play other multi games with others?
Btw do a last try.. go to steam client Settings -> Downloads. After the box opens, click the button "Clear Download Catch". After that is cleared, click "OK" to close the box and reboot your PC and retry all. Report back.

Sorry to hear. Not exactly getting where is the prob. coz there are many possibilities to create problems. These 2 may be helpful (or may not).
