Using the same character on different devices?

I've been playing through steam remote play for a little bit, but now i'd like to get the game. If I join the same world, is there a way for me to use the same character? or since that character is saved on the other player's computer, can I not access it once I start using my own copy of stardew valley?

If it's on another computer you can just transfer the save over to yours.
