Transferring Host of Multiplayer Save
Hey yall, I've done some cursory investigation into this but all the results I can find are from years ago or pre-1.5 so I'm just checking in to see if there's any new information on the subject.

A group of friends started a farm a while back and things were fine for a while, but lately a couple of us have been getting dropped from the host regularly during our play sessions. It's a completely unmodded game and we've all reinstalled Stardew fresh and the disconnects persist, so we've come to the conclusion that it can really only be the host's connection to the two of us having issues. I pay the big bucks to make sure I've got good internet, so I offered to take up the mantle of host, but now I need to figure out how to edit our save file so ownership is transferred thoroughly and - other than position of cabins, as I assume the host HAS to be housed in the permanent cabin - more or less seamlessly.

We are nearly to fall in our second year so it would be an absolute shame to have to start over, so any alternate solutions would also be acceptable (transplanting the old save data onto a new save, manually editing a new save to replicate the old save, etc), but obviously the more painless the operation, the better!

tl;dr: what's the good good on editing multiplayer saves to transfer hosts/ownership in the year of our lord concernedape 2022

Without any mods or editing software, there is one way I believe this can be done. First of course is having the save file within your save folder. If it shows up on the load screen, you did it right. The save file should be somewhere here: C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\StardewValley\Saves

Next comes the dicey part. You'll, of course, want to transfer your whole look onto the new character (you can also technically sleep in separate beds, ie: different cabins, and if anyone has been married, simply divorce them and erase their memories VIA the witch's hut.) So, you'll need the wizard's hearts up to 4 between you and the previous host. From there, 500g each (so 1,000 gold if it's shared money) and there's a thing called "The Shrine of Illusions." From there you can change your name, gender, the overall look of your character (besides clothing because that's an item now) and favorite thing. You can also change the look of the dog or cat, but you cannot change it from a dog to a cat and vise versa.
