Gold Star Ingredients = Average or Bad Quality Luau Soup
Hey All,

I put a gold star spring onion in the luau soup and the governor said it tasted bad. Normal grape at least got a neutral response. Just now, I tried again with gold star leek. Average.

I thought that it was supposed to be superior if we use gold star ingredients. Clearly, something is wrong here. I cannot know if it came from my garden. I pick things up lying around and grow things.

PS: I already put this in the Bug Report section, I thought. Everything I read indicates that gold star ingredients should give a good soup. I tried this 3 times and it did not work as expected, so I would think this is a bug.

It depends on the type of ingredient too, not just the quality. There's a comprehensive list of items and quality levels of each of the mayor's responses here:

Generally speaking, items you get from foraging (those you find on the ground outside of your farm) are not suitable to gift outside of specific exceptions for every character (George loves Leeks for example, Penny & Jas like sweet pea and so on).
Fish are a simple way to make the Luau a success, but the best possible reaction requires products that are more difficult to acquire (cheese, wine, smoked fish...)
