Sound like static noise

Hi, I have this problem: every sound in Stardew Valley sounds like it has a static noise on the background and I don't know why, any fix? I'm the only one? I tried everything, also changing headset and sound card

Some people have been experiencing this since the game was updated to 64-bit, so I would guess that's probably the source of your issue. Switching to the compatibility version of the game is the only solution for this that I know of. Just be aware that the compatibility version isn't supported by SMAPI. Other than that, it's effectively no different than the standard version.

I just tried to switch to compatibility mode, but nothing, the static sound persists

To be clear, did you switch to the compatibility version of the game (described in the link above), or did you launch the game in compatibility mode (the Windows function)?

I switched into the compatibility mode just as described on the guide

Then the only other thing I can think to try is updating or rolling back your audio drivers if you haven't yet. Every other report of this that I've seen recently has been solved by switching to the compatibility version.

just tried to reboot all my drives, clean all my cache, reinstall the game, check also windows integrity but nothing seems to work, can just be a game bug?

nothing, tried also doing in another pc and same thing, could be the latest windows update?

I suppose that's possible, but I would expect more reports in a shorter span of time if it were caused by a recent Windows update. There have been sporadic reports of this since 1.5.5 was released (over 3 months ago), and switching to the compatibility version has fixed it in every other case that I've seen. I'm not sure what could be different on your end beyond what you've already tested, let alone on two separate PCs.

Are there any notable programs you keep running in the background that would have been on both PCs you tested?

Have you tested whether this bug might be affecting only a specific save file?

my boyfriend is currently having the same issue, we last played 3 days ago and there was no problems for them.

Now they have staticy stuttery sounds with the game open
